PROGRAMS OFFERINGS
ADAF Kenya envisions a community where youth, women, and people with disabilities are empowered through skill development, addressing the fundamental aspects of life. Our Technical Skills Building School seeks to deliver impactful programs in construction skills, agribusiness, and tailoring, catering to the basic human needs of food, shelter, and clothing.
Construction Skills
In this program, participants will receive comprehensive training in essential construction skills, including painting, masonry, carpentry, and plumbing. These skills directly contribute to the creation of shelter, addressing a critical need in communities where housing is a challenge
Agribusiness
Our agribusiness curriculum covers diverse areas such as urban farming, fisheries (aquaculture), apiculture, and small ruminants (goats and chicken). By imparting knowledge in sustainable agricultural practices, we aim to secure the food needs of communities, fostering self-sufficiency and resilience.
Tailoring
The tailoring program focuses on equipping individuals with the skills to produce clothing. Beyond meeting a basic need, this empowers participants to contribute to the textile industry, promoting economic sustainability and self-reliance.
Addressing Basic Human Needs
Each program is meticulously designed to address one or more of the basic human needs.
Food Security
Agribusiness programs directly contribute to local food production, ensuring communities have access to nutritious and locally sourced produce.
Shelter
Construction skills empower individuals to contribute to housing solutions, addressing the challenge of inadequate shelter in marginalized communities.
Clothing
Tailoring skills enable the production of clothing, fostering self-sufficiency and reducing dependency on external sources.
Inclusivity for People with Disabilities
ADAF Kenya is committed to inclusivity. Our training programs are designed to accommodate and empower people with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and adaptability in both infrastructure and teaching methodologies. We believe in providing equal opportunities for all individuals to learn and thrive.
ADAF Kenya has implemented a comprehensive cohort system designed to maximize the impact of our training programs.
Frequency: We plan to conduct three cohorts annually, ensuring a consistent and dynamic learning environment.
Participants: Each cohort will consist of 10-20 participants, allowing for personalized attention and effective skill development.
Facilitators: To guarantee quality instruction, each cohort will be supported by six experienced facilitators. These facilitators bring expertise in various fields, ensuring a holistic learning experience.
Time Frame: The training for each cohort will span a duration of two months. This intensive period is strategically designed to provide in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the chosen skill sets.
Curriculum: Our curriculum is tailored to cover essential aspects of construction skills (including painting, masonry, carpentry, and plumbing), agribusiness (urban farming, fisheries, apiculture, and small ruminants), and tailoring.
Quality Assurance: ADAF Kenya is committed to maintaining the highest standards in skills development. To validate the acquired skills, participants will undergo a rigorous certification process facilitated by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
NITA Collaboration: We collaborate closely with NITA to ensure that our training aligns with industry standards. The certification will be a testament to the participants’ proficiency in their chosen skill areas.
Benefits: NITA certification not only enhances participants’ employability but also serves as a mark of quality for the skills imparted at ADAF Kenya’s Technical Skills Building School.
